Audi To Launch The First Car With 4G Capabilities

The German auto company have released their new car model, the S3 Sportback, which will feature an Audi Connect Infotainment System powered through 4G connectivity. In a press statement Audi said “From navigation with Google Earth and Google Street View to Audi music stream web radio and online traffic information.”

The press statement also mentioned that this new feature will integrate social network accounts: “Facebook and Twitter social media platforms have also been made vehicle friendly with a text to speech function and a status function with prepared text modules.”

This follows on from the trend that we first reported earlier this year when Rolls Royce announced the importance of technology integration in cars. Richard Carter, Rolls Royce’s Director of Global Communications revealed personalisation to be the key marketing feature in customer acquisition and retention saying, ‘artisanal luxury is adapting to consumer desire and need for technology integration’.
